Pre-marital counseling

Last night Jason and I had our first meeting with out premarital counselors! It was...fun? Is that the right word? Well, it was easy to talk to our counselors, people who we only met 2 minutes before we dove into our workbook folders.

"Its a conversation between you two. We are only here as mediators"

Sounds good.

Almost 2 hours later we found out we are good communicators.
So far we are off to a good start!

My latest sewing project

From the time I bought the pattern, to finding the right material, to cutting the individual pieces, it took (roughly) 4 months.
Hopefully it won't tkat that long for my next project.

2 years!!!

October 5 was Jason and my 2 year anniversary of our first date!
(7 1/2 hour coffee date to be exact)

That was the day that changed the rest of my life.

Actually it was the Sunday before, the day he asked me out.

Did you know that when I gave him my cell number he immediately put it in his phone then called me! Did he think I would actually give him a bogus number? He was smart enough to check though...

Swimming shirts

I was on Cafe press today, browsing the swim shirts they have and these are my favorites:

I own this shirt (with the Mission Viejo Masters symbol):

Sewing projects

The first item I made was a reversible bag then a pair of Batman pajama pants in a Intro to Sewing class at Saddleback College. The pj bottoms were too small for me so I gave them to my brother. I also started a red wrap top but didn't complete it in class. Weeks later, when I wanted to finish it, I realized I messed up. I couldn't find the material in JoAnn's, where I previous bought it, so I tossed the outfit.

Here are pictures of my sewing projects I have completed:

My first dress! This was a final assignment I made for a Intermediate Sewing class I took at Saddleback College a couple years ago. Since then I've lost weight and had to alter it to fit my smaller size. So proud of myself that I didn't mess up and am able to wear it again!

This coat took forever! I was so frustrated because the thread was too light for the material. Also trying to sew continuously for the waistline was not working. It took me months and maybe a year from start to finish. I rarely wear this jacket because it is longer in the torso than I would like. One day, or week, maybe I'll take it apart and readjust the fit.

My orange summer dress.

This skirt was made from leftover material from a dress I made for my mom. I have not worn the skirt because it is too snug around my tummy and not my color scheme.
A wrap dress I regularly wear. This is my most recent item.
I've made many dresses. I figure they are easier than pants to make, since those are more snug around the midsection. Maybe if I find a nice pattern and material I will one day start but for now it's dresses.
I also like making pj bottoms. Its fun finding the material for it. I've made wedding themed pants for my cousin, girly themed for my sister and football flannel for my boyfriend. All made to fit their personality.

George Lopez

Last night my family, Jason and Jose all sat in our "family room" to watch a DVR of George Lopez on HBO.

OMG! We were all laughing! Crying from laughing so much!

The comments he had were so right on with how my parents grew up and the impressions and faces he made were hysterical. I wasn't impressed by the foul language, English and Spanish, but I understand how it is apart of humor, for some people.

Mission Trip

I know I want to go on a mission trip and I've always had South America, especially Argentina, on my mind. I want to go in October (of this year) but due to my fear of getting the financial support and not adding $2300 to my already massive credit card, this was not an option.
So..I'll be sitting at my desk looking at the list of trips I can pick from and hopefully its soon. Maybe early next year. Maybe that's why I had no conflict in putting student teaching off to next term . Again.
