Pre-marital counseling

Last night Jason and I had our first meeting with out premarital counselors! It was...fun? Is that the right word? Well, it was easy to talk to our counselors, people who we only met 2 minutes before we dove into our workbook folders.
"Its a conversation between you two. We are only here as mediators"
Sounds good.
Almost 2 hours later we found out we are good communicators.
So far we are off to a good start!

2 years!!!
October 5 was Jason and my 2 year anniversary of our first date!
(7 1/2 hour coffee date to be exact)
That was the day that changed the rest of my life.
Actually it was the Sunday before, the day he asked me out.
Did you know that when I gave him my cell number he immediately put it in his phone then called me! Did he think I would actually give him a bogus number? He was smart enough to check though...

Swimming shirts
I was on Cafe press today, browsing the swim shirts they have and these are my favorites:

I own this shirt (with the Mission Viejo Masters symbol):

Sewing projects
The first item I made was a reversible bag then a pair of Batman pajama pants in a Intro to Sewing class at Saddleback College. The pj bottoms were too small for me so I gave them to my brother. I also started a red wrap top but didn't complete it in class. Weeks later, when I wanted to finish it, I realized I messed up. I couldn't find the material in JoAnn's, where I previous bought it, so I tossed the outfit.
Here are pictures of my sewing projects I have completed:
This coat took forever! I was so frustrated because the thread was too light for the material. Also trying to sew continuously for the waistline was not working. It took me months and maybe a year from start to finish. I rarely wear this jacket because it is longer in the torso than I would like. One day, or week, maybe I'll take it apart and readjust the fit.

A wrap dress I regularly wear. This is my most recent item.
I've made many dresses. I figure they are easier than pants to make, since those are more snug around the midsection. Maybe if I find a nice pattern and material I will one day start but for now it's dresses.

My first dress! This was a final assignment I made for a Intermediate Sewing class I took at Saddleback College a couple years ago. Since then I've lost weight and had to alter it to fit my smaller size. So proud of myself that I didn't mess up and am able to wear it again!

My orange summer dress.

This skirt was made from leftover material from a dress I made for my mom. I have not worn the skirt because it is too snug around my tummy and not my color scheme.

I also like making pj bottoms. Its fun finding the material for it. I've made wedding themed pants for my cousin, girly themed for my sister and football flannel for my boyfriend. All made to fit their personality.

George Lopez

Last night my family, Jason and Jose all sat in our "family room" to watch a DVR of George Lopez on HBO.
OMG! We were all laughing! Crying from laughing so much!
The comments he had were so right on with how my parents grew up and the impressions and faces he made were hysterical. I wasn't impressed by the foul language, English and Spanish, but I understand how it is apart of humor, for some people.

Mission Trip
I know I want to go on a mission trip and I've always had South America, especially Argentina, on my mind. I want to go in October (of this year) but due to my fear of getting the financial support and not adding $2300 to my already massive credit card, this was not an option.
So..I'll be sitting at my desk looking at the list of trips I can pick from and hopefully its soon. Maybe early next year. Maybe that's why I had no conflict in putting student teaching off to next term . Again.

Are there times in life I can be jealous?
When is jealously a bad thing? Who is it hurting? myself? others? What if I don't act out on it? What if I am jealous because someone has something I want and feel I deserve?
Ok. That's it!
Deserve...
Who says I deserve it? Maybe I need to wait for that something a little longer...Maybe God is saying 'this is what will come. I am testing you. Where do your priorities lie? In this thing you want or in Me? How patient can you be?'
Hmm..maybe that's it....

Martha Stewart

I'm addicted to Martha Stewart.
I subscribe to her Craft of the Day, Cookie of the Day, Organizing Tip of the Day, Weddings Idea of the Day, 60 Days of Summer, and Dinner Tonight from Everyday Food daily e-mails. I have a folder of her ideas and I'm sure it comes in a book format sold at Borders...
If I had time, I'd pull a Julie Powell but with Martha Stewart and I'd need more than a year and a lot of moola.
Hmmm...that might be fun...

I sit at my desk ...
and that's about it...
I wait for e-mails to come,
I look at the data in the system,
I open up files to check for conflicts,
I send e-mails and wait for replies.
I sit at my desk...
and I believe that contributed to my chiropractors lifestyle.

E-mail address
Lately I've wondered 'will I change my e-mail address (csobutterfly) once I'm married?'
I know girlfriends who have, especially if their e-mail address involves their maiden name.
CSO stands for my initials and my married name will start with a B.
Should I opt for a whole new name? Maybe make my first name and new last name as an e-mail address? Should I stick with the butterfly? Make a completely new address that involves my hobbies or personality?
I guess I'll know when the time comes...

Wedding gowns

I like looking at wedding gowns.
No I'm not engaged or plan on being married anytime this year, but a girl starts to look at wedding websites when she is dating a man she knows is her true love.
Its hard not to plan or at least get ideas for your future wedding when you start dating your true love.
I know I'm not crazy. Girls do this too. Not just girly girls.
I enjoy looking at wedding gowns because they are the one item that every girl should pay attention to. Granted not everyone will remember the gown but you dance, sit, eat, take pictures in, greet people in, and basically wear it for 5 hours if not a whole day.
A dress can emphasize a woman's shape, show her personality and hopefully had a lot of thought put into buying it.

ME...
I get angry easily.
I have a tough time trusting people so once its lost, forget it!
I wear my heart on my sleeve.
I'm tired of caring about what others think of me; I'm mean, honest and a ball to be around, when I'm myself.
I'm the oldest child of 3 so I am protective of all my friends.
I was president of the math Club in college.
It took me 6 years to complete college.
I never feel pretty.
I love my feet, hair and eyes.
I hope all my friends know I love them.
I never dated in HS. I swam and studied.
I love planning parties and get-togethers.
I believe family is the most important thing in life and irreplaceable.
I do not consider cheerleading a sport. Unless you are in Texas.

Cassandra needs...
reading Rileys blog, I decided to do the same thing! here is what happened when I typed "Cassandra needs" in google:

For the moments I feel faint
Am I at the point of no improvement?
What of the death I still dwell in?
I try to excel, but I feel no movement.
Can I be free of this unreleasable sin?
Never underestimate my Jesus.
You're telling me that there's no hope.
I'm telling you your wrong.
Never underestimate my Jesus
When the world around you crumbles
He will be strong, He will be strong
I throw up my hands
"Oh, the impossibilities"
Frustrated and tired
Where do I go from here?
Now I'm searching for the confidence I've lost so willingly
Overcoming these obstacles is overcoming my fear
Never underestimate my Jesus.
You're telling me that there's no hope.
I'm telling you your wrong.
Never underestimate my Jesus
When the world around you crumbles
He will be strong, He will be strong
I think I can't, I think I can't
But I think you can, I think you can
I think I can't, I think I can't
But I think you can, I think you can
Gather my insufficiencies and
place them in your hands, place them in your hands, place them in your hands

Love
What is your definition of love?
You can quote 1 Corinthians. Or a line from a movie. Or a checklist you made after that certain someone broke your heart.
Its different for everyone.
How long does love last? Is it a feeling? Is it an action? Is there such a thing as unconditional love?
What is love?
Why is "I love you" thrown around so much?" How often do you say "I love you" and mean it? How long does it take you to know someone before you say "I love you"? Is it a phrase that easily comes from your mouth?
Three little words that have so much power..

Pageant of the Masters
Jason & I are going July 10!
For Christmas he gave me a homemade collage with pictures of the event and ticket stubs because tickets were not on sale yet.
I can't wait to attend!
The only thing that sticks is how late it starts 8:30! That's late for me!
But we're sure to have fun! Excitement has set in!
